What, he stopped behind you? Did you get off the bike and go front him?...

    I generally just ignore them.
I've never had one hit me yet.

  8. Pay the fine, I had plenty of points and couldnt be bothered with court.

But thats just one more reason to never trust the bastards, no matter how
    human they might seem.

Possibly because our beloved leaders seem to have picked up the lessons
    from Goebbels so well?

When you are appointed Commissar for Road Transport, can I have Victoria
Road, mornings, for the Transit Lane times...Monday thru Friday?

How much will that cost, and how much extra for the right to shoot the
    really silly ones?

I surprised that in such an ostensibly laid back country the po-lice here
are such cunts. Did you try telling him that he was uncomfortably-
    dangerously-close to you?

They actually had someone in the Vic Rd. T3 lane last week, or more
accurately he was hiding behind a pole and writing down the
numberplates of the cars who went past empty.

Well aware of that! If I can let them past I'm more than willing to go
that route. Problem is most of my riding will be on very ordinary
country roads with few places to stop, sharing the road with Canberrans
who are on a coast trip (you'll see all my rants about this in
aus.cars). They seem to get frustrated if they are held up for even 10
seconds on their 2 hour journey to Batemans Bay.
Mainly to annoy those in the American driving groups I post to. :)
Goebbels' quote also works well when applied to the "speed kills" drivel
    GovCo is dishing out.

Getting way off topic here, but boy does that bring back memories! I
grew up in Braidwood, my parents owned (what was then) the BP service
station. It was a great laugh for the local "hoons" to go for a drive
on a Friday afternoon at about 6PM - they would head toward Canberra for
about 10km, then turn around and drive back to town at about 40km/h.
They would go through town ahead of a line of cars miles and miles long!
I was only about 14 at the time, but even then didn't see a funny side.
I shudder to think how many accidents they "caused" by "forcing" people
    to overtake in silly places...

  17. Oh man that sux... I've had cops do that me but only in my car. In
Williamstown they have tailgated me a couple of times - something bad
too - was in me subaru and it has a 3inch exhuast - so they race up
behind and sit about half a metre away. although, i kind of think that
they are getting close so they can see if they need to slap a defect
    sticker on it :-/

that was *the* worst mistake subaru ever made. (and, perhaps,
discontinuing the brumby - a great car imho)

The laid back Oz is a myth....or perhaps a memory of distant times, like
    25 years ago.

Now we are the most over governed, over policed, and over nannied bunch
of folk in the known universe.
