Anyone used Swiftcover?

It's car insurance time, and Swiftcover seem to be the cheapest, and
    not particularly lacking in features.

Anyone heard of them? Any stories, good or bad?

Had the Jeep with them last year, but didn't make a claim, so no
    stories to tell.

  8. Son is currently being claimed from because he opened his car door just as a
VW transporter occupied the same space. Very simple, friendly and
    straightforward process.

Coincidentally I've just this minute got a quote from them for the
    Volvo.
The online quote thing took a little bit of fettling to get the usage
and total excess where I wanted it, but the price is way lower than my
    current mob.

Also, Iggy Pop makes me laugh in his ads.

They're on the radio all the time down here, annoying adverts (but not
as annoying as elephant.co.uk adverts) featuring Iggy Pop. Recently
had a complaint against them upheld (and advert banned from
re-broadcast with the statement still in place) as Iggy Pop says he
insured with Swiftcover in the adverts as they buy him extra time or
something like that when they didn't insure musicians (or other
entertainment industry types) which amused me.

I use them for the Golf. The one thing to keep in mind is that they only
give very minimal cover abroad (enough for a booze cruise basically) and
if you need more you need to pay extra if and when.

Other than that it seems to be smooth enough, but then again I didn't
have to claim on that policy yet.

  15. Use them for my car, claimed once, no hassle even when I wanted the
courtesy car back after I found they'd not repaired my car properly (not
Swiftcovers fault, just the shitty garage that all the insurers use).

No extra charge for business use and very handy being able to do the
    whole lot online. Would recommend.

    Fucking annoying adverts though.

Except they've had to withdraw the advert because they don't actually
    cover musicians.

ESure managed a similar trick a few years ago. They used to place
adverts in Ariel, the BBC's staff rag. Only they don't cover anyone who
    works in entertainment or broadcasting.

Didn't stop them using Michael Winner in their ads mind, though the only
entertaining thing he's ever done is act as a punchbag writing writing
that column in the Sunday Times Review section.

Well, that seems to seal it - several reasonably happy customers.

And it helps that my renewal was £465, and Swiftcover are quoting me
    £285!
