anyone use Bennetts for insurance?

Since I've moved house to a place without a garage (at the moment, one
to be built at some point), my previous insurers (Motorcycle Direct)
    won't insure me.

So, I tried ebikeinsurance, and they will, but for a stupid amount
(previous Motorcycle Direct quote 330ukp, ebike wanted 650!)

So, I tried Bennetts, and they only want 220.

so, my question is, are they any use?

I used them up until I had my last accident, where they aptly demonstrated
what a shower of know-nothing, cared-less bunch of fuckwits they were.

I thusly went to Carole Nash.

Times might have changed in the past 6-7 years though.

I use them. Only been with them for about 2 months though. They haven't
done anything wrong yet, lady on the phone seemed nice enough and was
helpful - I haven't had to claim or try amending anything yet though. So
really, from experience, I can tell you they take you money and send
documents out promtly when you start insuring with them. Which may or may
    not be of any interest...

Have used them for my last insurance while in the UK, haven't had an
accident yet, so, I'd say they are of use.

Well they sent me the documentation and didn't charge me much , but I've not
had to make a claim so this is only of limited use to you

Fear not, IME, when I wrote my K100 off, flash to bang time was about 4/6
    weeks(1)
The only problem stemmed from CN being a bit tardy with some of the
paperwork. Once I had politely told ERS who to whinge at, things went
    swimingly.

  8. I've never used them. From memory the consensus view on here has always
been - friendly service, cheap premiums until you need to make a claim
and then life gets pretty fucking awful as their service is dire. Only
you can weigh the probability that you might end up experiencing the
    dire aspect of their service.

your post seems to summarize everyone else's so I'll reply to you (but
    thanks to all).

TBH, I've never made a bike insurance claim in my life - I treat
insurance as something i just have to have, and go for TPF&T and
assume I'll adhere to the DFC recommendation.

In which case, I almost certainly will go for the cheapest option to
insure the bunch of crap in my non existent .sig.

I've used them for the last 10 years but never had cause to claim so cannot
comment on that side. Reminders arrive annually, direct debits are taken
    monthly .... that's about it.

My insurance is 100 quid fully comp for my K100RS so I've not shopped
around too often as it seems more than cheap enough :)

I have used them for years, but like others have never had to make a claim.
I recently changed bikes, one phone call, old policy stopped and a new
certificate received the next day for the new bike to run it through to the
    end of the cover year.

  12. Well, seeing as they are only brokers, it depends who they pass
you on to. Most of my business with them has been with Zenith, but they
only paid out £1,000-less-excess for the 175, despite accepting the cover
on an declared value of £1,200 (TOG gave me a £200 discount on the
purchase price, and a receipt to prove it). Bennetts sent me a claim
form, but Zenith sent me one too, before I could reply to Bennetts, so I
cut out the middleman and dealt directly with Zenith.

I use 'em, but I've never needed to claim so I can't say how they'd be "come
the day". They WERE helpful enough when I rang about Euro cover and had the
perfect opportunity to sell me "extra", but apparently, my current policy
    covered me, so they didn't.

Theyve always been good on prices too.

I've used them since getting the CBR (for some reason, the previous
insco don't like CBR's), the only glitch I've had so far is that I
didn't receive the documention on time in order for me to tax the bike
at the PO, and the online facility claimed that I was currently
un-insured, due to the time element of taxation and insco docs being
issued. (The Inscos only update the database once a week, so it's
possible to be classed as un-insured for a couple of days).

After having a discussion with Bennetts, they have promised to make
sure that it won't happen next year, as I will be out of the country on
my bike in the interim between being taxed and not, IYSWIM.

I'll still call them to make sure they send the docs out, though.
