I just couldn't get my head around it all and shake the idea that I
was going into the catch fencing and lack of bottle meant lack of
enthusiasm. I finished 2nd in the race so decided that to ride in one
race and get a 2nd was ok if I forget in years to come that I was out
    with the wankers.

    "something different".

The "foot out" thing, is when you're riding a supermoto over mixed
tarmac and soft surfaces - the idea is that if, on a soft surface, the
rear starts to slide and the bike might be doing to lowside, you can
"kick it back up" of your foot.

Of course, on the road, this results in spiral fractures a la Veggie
    Dave.

an idea of how bad it was.

pedant - I meant "on the tarmac", as opposed to "on dirt".

I might just buy the KTM before getting shot of the Tiger anyway.

    It's only money, after all.

a - the snorkelly exhaust one. I must say it looks very nice.
Oh, I don't. I've owned a couple of big singles before, remember.

Mine was collected from the shop with Akros fitted and the mapping
sorted. I wouldn't expect to be able to get more than a tenner for the
standard exhausts if I could find a mug who wanted them.
Who worries about what's behind them anyway?

Anyway, I've bought the thing now, pick it up on Saturday morning. if
they're really dire, I'll take the mirrors off. Certainly the mirrors
on the other two big singles I've owned were almost completely
    useless[0][1]

Insurance is only £134, which was a pleasant surprise.

[0] the mirrors on the SZR were at the wrong height, not far enough
apart, and at anything above 1.1K rpm, vibrated so much it was like
looking at a piece of aluminium foil.
[1] the mirrors on the R30 used to continually vibrate themselves
loose and flop round and bat you on the arms.

this is the new, rash, implusive, devil-may-care darsy.
cheers - I'll take it for a spin on Saturday afternoon, and if I feel
up to it/the weather's OK, post details of a BOTAFOF for Sunday
    morning.

sure, why not? I fancied owning an early SRAD gixer 750 at the time,
and still wouldn't mind a go on one[1]

[1] though I rode Kenyon's 600, and absolutely fucking hated it.

when I picture you saying that, I can't help thinking that it sounds
like the Catherine Tate character saying "He's a gay man no-ow".
