Near Estepona would be good? I fancy a run around the first two weeks
of August. I have one in Malaga, but it's PITA to return the bike.

    In
Surely you can find somewhere more pleasant than there to holiday? :)

It's just a cheapie, we have done Barbados & Dubai this year. Parents
have a place down there so we only pay for flights & to be honest
Casares is fucking nice. Plenty of sun too.

I quite like Spain but not the tourist type areas.

  5. Málaga city isn't touristy. I might go and live there. Miles of empty
clean beaches and hardly a brit expat in sight. Of course, down the road
in Torremolinos it's a different story.

  6. You're going to ride a motorcyle here in August? I hope you're not a
safety nazi because you won't be able to wear leathers. Vest and shorts
is the order of the day. Oh, and flip-flops.

I'm staying near Alora in Malaga province in September - know anything
    about it?

I can recommend a day out in Antequera and El Torcal National Park.

  9. Nice countryside. Inhabited mostly by expat brits. Very close to El
Chorro which is well worth a visit. There really is some amazing scenery
around there. It's only a short way from my house, so give me a call and
we'll have a beer. Except I may be in Canada...

  10. Antequera is a pretty town, if a little british of late. Got some nice
churches and stuff. I go there once a week for shopping as it's only 15
    minutes away.

El Torcal, yes. I've been there a million times and keep going back.
Take a picnic and a camera. Next time I go there I'm going to go "off
    piste". Not recommended apparently...

I'll do my best to avoid them.
I'll be there between the 12th and the 19th. I don't have your phone
    number, mind.

I was pleasantly suprised. Had a lovely meal in a little place just
    off the main square.
It was *freezing* when we went (late March) but if I'm ever in the area
    again I'll go back, definitely.

We only did the small (green?) trail, primarily because of the fucking
    cold!

  14. El Lobo Parque. Yes. A must-do. It's kind of in between Antequera and El
Torcal. They have "howling nights" - sounds a bit corny, but what the
hell. I'll be going again when the kids come to visit.

ah - is it worth doing without kids? This is the first week-long
holiday we've had without them for about 6 years.
