I'd expect the phone number to be of a seriously premium-rated line,
at the very least - fiver a minute, keep you going for 20 minutes sort
    of thing.

OK, so I'm sure it's a scam but I can't see the catch. A European
national lottery that I've not (to my knowledge) entered says I'm a
major prize winner. Sounds like the dozens of junkmail that come
through my front door - but when you read those carefully, it is clear
that one _may_ have won a mjor prize but most likely it's a holiday
voucher. This one has nothing like that. The phone number given has
the right code for that country. Anyone had similar?

Ah, I see it now. Ta. It's very cleverly done - if I had entered a
lottery when I was abroad, I would have been fooled for sure.

Not had one of those, but today I got spam sms from SMSdate, a dating
service. Apparently someone who I know has requested a date with me
through them. Why the **** didn't she just sms me direct, If indeed she
even exists? If she does exist, then she's hardly likely to be my type
cos she tried to make life complicated and expensive, which I can do
    without. **** 'em

I didn't bother phoning the 0900 5000 number that appeared on my phone
