Anyone got any RM/RMX stuff ?

I know this may not be the most relevant place to ask, but I was
wondering if anyone of the helpful souls around this place (other, more
relevant forums seem to be chock-full o' wankers, while this one seems
only partly full) has any parts manuals, workshop manuals, microfiches,
buckets of parts, whatever... for a 1994 RMX250R (or any year RM/RMX
for that matter, as they didn't really change a hell of a lot from
their inception in 88/89 up until the late 90's).

I just got rid of my '91 Yamaha TT600 in favour of the RMX (it was
easier to get my bike to shed 30Kg than myself) and I'd like to start
bringing it back up to spec.

What? And you bought it without posting 30 "what do you think of RMX250Rs"
    posts first?!!?
    Have you gone MAD!!?

Dont have any manuals left but rode one of these new for one season in
    enduros.

Carby is the biggest problem, bad flat spots that not even experienced
tuners could get rid of, solution was to put on a mikuni with custom
    manifolds.
Handling was very average even for the day.

Power valve system on early models was troublesome.

All up, they were an average trailbike when new, if you ask around you will
find most Suzuki dealers hate them, mainly due to carb problems.

Thanks for the info, but I am fairly up with them and from what I can
gather, you are a quite close to the consensus. My research has been
made up mostly of speaking with riders who actually raced them in the
early 90's (like yourself), so I'm pretty confident the info I have is
    fairly accurate.

It seems that one of the biggest the carb problems are attributed to
the very sharp taper on the idle screw (which is also the choke pull).
This was not a problem on RMs of the day (which had a more tapered
screw for more sensitive adjustment). Also the pilot screw could be
troublesome, and generally-speaking, a lot of frigging around was
required with jets, needles, etc. to get them even close to right (for
    racing).

Swapping to an RM carb usually sorted it, or a complete aftermarket
unit as you suggested. The powervalve was also a design problem, which
was rectified by about 92. Most people give the bottom-end (which
wasn't too bad) a boost by putting in a thinner RM head gasket, and
    changing the pipe.

The one I bought has just had a new piston (inc. rebore, obviously) and
a new power valve. It has an RM head gasket, and stock pipe. It seems
to go OK, but will need a few tweaks to make it just right.

Most riders I've spoken to you would differ with their opinion of the
suspension package. The most common comment is that the back is too
soft for serious riding, but almost everyone reckons that as an
occasional trailie, thery're not a bad package.

    I don't expect too much, so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. I only
putt-around with the kids, so I really don't need much from a bike.

Yeah didnt want to dampen your enthusiasm, It will make a great trail bike,
and so much more fun to ride than dowdy 250 4 strokes.

I seem to remember the carb problems were something to do with the idle
circuit, and no matter how much you stuffed around you could never quite get
it "right" unless you went to the expense of a mikuni carb.

One thing I do remember (like a whole lot of other bikes) is putting
"power" pipes on does nothing but increase noise.
