I am looking for a some throw-over type panniers for the XJ

You can get a new set for £23 from www.mandp.com

Probably the sort you'd use once and throw away

I have a pair that have seen some life which a friend used to own that I
    bought for a song.
If you are at the EOSM at the weekend you can buy me a couple of pints and
    take them away with you.
They are vinyl type. Black, with webbing straps. locks on front (No keys but
most Keyshops have them) fairly clean and reinforced on the bottom edges
with gaffa tape to reduce wear where they touch the bike.
I personally never got around to using them.

Heh. I think I used to have some that were probably these very ones. Burnt
through them like butter on a trip to the emmerald isle I think, with the
exhaust of either my old EN500 or CB500.

    Smoking.

I am hatching a plan, but this may involve me arriving there from Ashbourne.
    plan is:
    1. Take caravan to Callow top caravan park friday morning.
    2. pick kids/ wife up from school/work
    3. get wife to follow me back to callow top in the cage
    4. leave them there for weekend, nipping back occasionally to see if they
    are OK

    what do you think.

robbo, i'm in Ashton under Lyne, lancs
