Anyone got an un-loved Snottoiler

    Spare a Snottoiler, guv?

Anyone got one cluttering up a spider-infested corner of the garage?

I think the GTS deserves one.

Just not necessarily a new one.

Couple beers. It's ex-Comfo, so you need to respect the heritage thing.

You are, indeed, a prince among Monotremes.

You know that I, of all men, respect the heritage thing.

    I am obliged.

It's among the spiders: not a proper place for it. I was thinking of
putting it on the Z, but that might have taken years...

Buy it a new one you pikey git.

The one they have fitted to the Bloo GS is good. I asked for the
touring version and they have plumbed in a tank behind the number plate
that should keep my chain in surplus oil for years and years and years.
    Kin *HUGE* it is.

    Might have.
Mine isn't very new. I don't see the point in them so I'd willingly
allow it to move home assuming you came and removed it, fitted any
blanking plugs required and threw a couple of bottles of decent beer
    in my direction.

Some bloke made one out of an old ford fuel injector, a model aircraft
tank and a model aircraft fuel filter.... plus a bit of small bore
plastic pipe. Cheaper, and turns on / off with the ignition when the
fuel injector is connected up properly.

Plus, I found a better place to oil the chain, with less fling on the
rear tyre. I put it dripping onto the top of the chain, just where it
goes into the front sprocket cover. Still keeps the rollers oiled, and
    the o-rings from running dry.

Or just spend 10 minutes doing the job properly with chain lube.

I really don't know why people buy Scottoilers[1], a waste of money,
    imo.

[1] They may be good for the terminally forgetful/lazy, but there's no
    substitute for doing it properly.

Yes all of that but in my case it was years of painstaking research
reading ukrm and not finding any criticism from those that used them and
finding plenty of praise instead. Additional anecdotal evidence about
savings attained due to lack of chain and sprocket wear was also used
when drawing my conclusion that simply using it for a few thousand miles
will make a saving on the initial cost.

But it does do it properly.

Ha! 27,000 kms later and I've NEVER adjusted the chain on my CBR[1].
It's still got the correct tension and everything. I remember buying a
can of Silkolene somethingorother at the same time as buying the bike -
I lubed the chain after almost every ride/when it rained. 18 months that
    can of lube lasted me.

[1] I've obviously had to adjust it because I've had the wheel out for
tyre changes etc, but from an adjustment POV, I've not needed to move
    the squirelly fucker.

    It's getting close, mind.
I don't see the point in spending 60 odd quid on something that I can do
for free and costs me less that 5 quid a year.

I do but you have to remember that I am not a big fan of chain drives
anyway. The zero maintenance required by a shaftie is the kind of
    maintenance I approve of.
