Anyone got a bike trailer?

I may have need to bring a bike back to mine sometime next week.

As my insurance don't cover me for any other bike (and I'd have
problems riding any distance at the mo) does anyone local-ish to me
(Milton Keynes) have a bike trailer I could borrow please?

I don't have a trailer, but I do have CIHAGM insurance, so I may be able
to ride it back for you. Where from, and when?

Sometime around Sun, 07 Aug 2005 00:36:07 +0000, frag babbled on about:
Yup, a shiny new one about 12 miles from CMK, and I even have a bucket
load of straps as well, let me know if you need it.

    Wakefield, just north of Barnsley.

You is a man I need to see, I think, about knocking up a set of
rearsets for the bike in question to move the pegs to a ridable
    position, if possible? <grovel grovel>

When? Err, I will know by end of tomorrow, probably, but will let you
    know.

It'll be good to have someone who can test ride it as well, and an
impartial head to tell me to walk away if its a good looking lemon :)

Thankee very much, sire. An alternative solution has possibly been
found but I'll definitely keep you in mind.

    Cheers :)

If you want it given the once over before anyone does distance, I'm only 20
    mins drive from Waky.

    Bloody Hell. <Checks passport>.

Yeah, should be do-able. Timing is, however, critical. Any idea when
yet? I'm off to sunny Cornwall on Thursday.
Not a problem, what bike is it?

Err, is that a long distance from you? If it is it'll prolly be easier
to get tallbloke to give it the once over and borrow trailer to bring
    it back to mine.
Mon/Tues/Wed. Pref the earlier of those.

Just be careful with the rear shocks on those Frag, they have a tendency to
bust the seals if you adjust them... before you buy it wind the preload up
to full and back gently and give it 20 mins before checking for weeping
around the top of the (adjustment collar) for want of a better description.
I had one for 12 months and it went through three sets of shocks... they are
prone to it. Suzuki wont admit there is a problem but they will send out
    replacement shocks forever.

PS I live in Barnsley if you get stuck for someone to ride it for you, but
you would have to bring me back up here.

    Interesting, thanks for the info.

Probably worth bunging Ohlins on it at some point then.

Was that 3 sets of shocks in one year from new? And which model was
    yours? K1/2/3?

Did you not read the post? I said the shocks bust through adjustment and it
is a known issue, Yes I am heavier than frag but probably only by 4 or 5
stone... i.e. less than the weight of a pillion. You didn't think that one
    through very well did you?

I have never met you, insulted you or even seen you though your opening
remark to me is detremental about my weight.. you sir, are on the cunts
    list.

Mine was a K3 on a '53 and yes it went through 3 sets from new, the 02s were
supposed to be the ones with the problem and they changed the shockers for
the 03s but the problem still exists. Only manifests itself when adjusting
the preload though. Can you believe that the head of the workshop asked me
why I adjusted the preload if I knew it was going to make the shocks leak!

    I'm sure we have met.

In any case. If that kind of flippant remark offends, have you ever
thought UKRM isn't the place for you?

I'm near Hitchin. About 20 miles south of you...
I can do Tuesday, but I need a way to get Oop Norf. Alternatively, I'm
in Lancashire on Wednesday on business (almost certainly by train). I
*may* be able to figure out a way to get across to Barnsley and collect
it if you can give me a lift home from MK to my place. If that's a goer
I need to know tomorrow (Monday).

I might be a little late in this thread, I didn't spot it earlier. Sorry!

I've got a bike trailer sitting here that can take 2 bikes, (3 trailies I
think?) if it is any use.

Saffron Walden, Essex, but I can hook it up and drag it somewhere ;o)
