What about the delusion of the MZ being a tourer then?

Nope, definitely Scots. Peebles I think...

I was in the audience for a DVD recording session he did in Adelaide
the other week. Usual good music, but as it was an invited crowd it
    was all geriatric :)

(Old home week it was, faces from the Adelaide folk scene I haven't
seen in decades. And Hendrik, but he turns up in the most unlikely
    places.)

    Before I was posting to aus.motorcycles I was a semi-regular poster to
the Melbride mailing list which used to organize rides (and I went on a
    number of those).

I was 'put onto' aus.motorcycles by a couple of lurkers/occasional
posters who told me about it.

When I first posted to aus.motorcycles I owned and rode a Kawasaki
Concours (Grey Market GTR1000) and I lurked for months before I ended up
    finally officially de-lurking and posting.

I'm not exactly sure when that was but I my Concours was the bike I
owned before my first Bandit (which was a 1996 model). My Bandit was a
(just) superseded 1996 model and the 97's were on the floor of the shop,
I think that would have been December 96/Jan 97.

Take 12 months off that and my first ausmoto post would probably be
    early 1996?

I know it had been going for a reasonable whil before that... 2 or 3
    years maybe?

So... umm early(ish) 90's as a start date then?

Zebee or KevGl would probably be more accurate.

    I still have several early ausmoto T-Shirts, but I don't have a
netscrape one as I didn't go.

I thought the T-Shirts were later than that to be honest.

Maybe I got my estimated dates in my other post wrong.

  6. Now Cam, that's a great idea, but not realistic coming from a true Scotsman

Hah! Tonight he kept referring that bloody DVD.. e.g. "Our next
song is from a DVD you can't buy yet. How that of marketing?"

Didn't spot the Pennykids in the audience this time though... I think
    they're getting better at disguises...

Well, I bought a Tshirt and a sweat shirt, both printed by Kev.
    Real darlings... :)
What's a bloke gotta do around here to start a bunfight.

Ohhh! (hoists nose in the air)... Pie in the Sky huh, bloody elitist!
You didn't buy me a pie, just in case I wanted to come along, did you!

GB, (I'm not allowed at PITS, I don't ride a BMW, much less the
    silver factory leathers!)

  11. I'm pretty sure my first posts in here were 1996. Don't have time to
    go searching atm.

  12. I think the shirts were 1997 from memory. My home PC is down at the
moment and I don't have time to fix it so I'm netting from my G3
notebook and can't check. As per earlier post, I think I started in
here in 1996. I've got a T-shirt we made especially for a GP netride
that has 1998 on the back. So my guess is I found ausmoto in 96, I
designed those T-shirts in 97 and we did that one off GP shirt in 98.

And caught up with Cam and quite a few Sydney ausmoto-ers in Sydney
(pub in North Ryde? can't recall its name now) in 97 and delivered
shirts and windcheaters as I happened to be in Sydney at the time.

What the hell is the name of that pub Cam? It's going to annoy me now
as I used to live in Chatswood and would drink there fairly regularly.

  13. After living with Jeffles for a couple of months, I found the Geordies
more confusing than the Scots :)

Friendly folk though. Still got some good friends I met there who keep
in touch. Very generous folk. I didn't want to impose in Jeffles
family events on Xmas day, but this other lass insisted on picking me
up and driving me back to their place and feeding me beer and food on
their Xmas day then paid for a taxi to drive me 30 miles back to
Jeffles place. I'd fucked up and realised I couldn't withdraw money
for 3 more days due to public holidays so was broke.

It's before my (ausmotian) time, but at a guess, the 'El Rancho' in
North Ryde. (It's not too difficult a guess, I think it's the only
pub for miles!). The owners have changed all the signage and collateral
to read 'The Ranch Hotel' now, but it's still the El Rancho!

Well, you got that absolutely right! :)
They seem to have moved a wee bit down market since Road Warriors
closed, and they'll probably let you in on the Thunderarse, so long as
you park down the back. :p
