Anyone going to be in/around Cahors at the end of the month?

Just wondering, like, as I will be in that France for a few days from 29th
Jan and if any foreign-based/visiting ukrm types just happen to be passing
through the Lot valley I may be amenable to partaking in a few bottles of
    'black' wine.....

SWMBO won't be too far from there (about 60 miles or so), but I'm not
telling you where she is :)

You could always drop in on Lindas family (of Dodger fame), as I'm sure
they'll be more than happy to accommodate a ukrmer. ;-)

    So do I. That's why I've bought a house there.... :)

Unfortunately Its just s short trip to check on how work on the house is
progressing so I'm flying out there and using a shite 1 litre rental car..
    :((

But I am aiming to go out later in the year (maybe Easter time) to take the
955 out there so it is waiting for me in summer (hopefully I'll have the
Daytona there and the NS here).

Champ bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along the
    lines of:
I never remember the routes, I just know where they are. There are some
excellent roads closer to the border between France and Spain. Some
    really nice twisties.

'sides, I posted a link, ages ago, with links to decent roads in France.

    Hit this link for "Roadbooks"

    http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=road+book+moto&spell=1

Make sure that you search on google.fr

Each year one of the French mags does a summer special of 'best biking
routes', with detailed descriptions and maps, which have included some
of my favourite roads in the Jura and Vosges as well as classics like
    those around Barcelonette.

A good site for drooling over nice roads is
    http://www.jfluegel.de/motoalps/MotoAlps.HTM

You can either scroll through the list on the left looking at pics, or
hit 'Suchen' to get a list of all the Swiss/German/Italian passes. It's
    a great trigger for a few hours day-dreaming :)

  12. Not a snowball's chance in hell. You don't know France, you can't speak
French, and you've never lived there.

Brilliant - thanks for that. We're spending a week (mid August) in a
village in the Monts Alberes (on the border south of Perpignan), but
will be spending four or five days either side working our way down
and back. The upper Dordogne and Lot should fit in nicely. All we need
now is an invite from Wavy Davy ...
    It is - received.

Champ emerged from their own little world to say
I like that road too. I stayed in Grenoble for a few days and did
circuits into the Alps. The N91 was often the first or last leg of a
circuit. I must get a dark visor if I go back. Dropping into those
short, unlit tunnels was a pain wearing sunglasses.

    You utter, utter, fucker.[/QUOTE]

Well *of_course* you're invited over! Especially if you're any good at
    plastering/painting etc... :)

Actually, once it is habitable (which should be in time for summer) then it
will be available as a stopoff point for ukrm-ers on a French bimble (as
long as you don't *all* call in at once) as we do have a few spare bedrooms
    ...
Ermmm.. Did you, perchance, call/text Muck? 'Cos he has my old phone and,
    therefore, my old number.......
