This morning, a lorry carrying rotting carcasses of dead livestock
(sheep and cow) started to lose its load and smeared about 2 kilometers
of highways round/near Paris with very smelly bits of animal innards,
    limbs, heads...

This happened during the morning commute and cars did not stop, and
carried some more of the crud on their wheels spreading it over 5
    kilometers of highways.

In the evening parts of the Périphérique and of the West freeway were
still closed while they were cleaning the mess.

I'm glad I work on the other side of Paris...

Waiting for our hyperactive prez to launch a new law about
    carcass-carrying lorries.

Videos likely to be available on youtube or dailymotion.

'The man may have been struck before sunrise, possibly by several cars,
"(but) you'd think you'd have a car somewhere that stopped," Nelson said.
"If not, it's a hit and run."'

    That's 20 hit and runs .. a record perhaps?
