Since all the snow has melted and all the salt has washed the diesel off the
roads I reckon there's a load more grip on the black stuff.

It's blowing a gale here too... the fence is looking like it's seriously
    considering giving up the struggle....

next door's wall just blew over, in the same way that mine did a few years
ago. Luckily their car was not in the driveway at the time, unlike mine

  6. Dustbin when over some time ago. The sheep shelter in the field over the
back just went into low earth orbit. It's been raining sideways so hard
here if you opened a window the rain would hit the opposite wall before
    the floor.

Had a bizarre moment walking into the city centre this afternoon. It was
like a freeze frame on a DVD. Me and the head wind reached equilibrium. I
could not move forward and the wind could not blow me back. Felt very odd.

You had grit during the freeze?

I've just stopped off at the local 24hrs Tesco on the way home and was
amused to see at least 3 sets of trolleys bouncing off cars in various
parts of the carpark. Needless to say I parked in a remote corner.[1]

[1] <rant> What is it with people who mysteriously lose the use of
their legs when looking to park at the supermarket? Rather than park
quickly where there's oceans of space and walk all of 40 yards, they
prefer to mooch up and down the lane nearest the entrance and jam up
    the traffic flow! </rant>

Abso was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
You forgot to mention that people who're perfectly able to walk all on
their own, without a disabled badge in sight, prefer to clutter up the
disabled bays. That *really* pisses me off...

OK, I have a confession, I *did* park in a disabled spot the other day
but it was 21:30 and there was a whole row of empty disabled spots, so
I reckon there should be a special dispensation applied to your
    pissed-offed-ness.

    I do this.

I spend a fucking fortune in Sainsburies so when I'm *not* shopping
there I'm fucked if I'm spending two or more quid on parking elsewhere.

  18. My mum (who *does* have a disabled sticker in her car on account of
my Dad's Parkinsons Disease) parked her car across the back of 3 cars
parked in the disabled slots (without stickers)..

Then went for a nice leisurely lunch and shop.

Apparently 2 of the people were on a time-restricted lunch and not
very happy with her.. but she had a tame security guard in tow
    when she went back.

    You reckon?

Wait 'till they send in the CPP boys - they'll ticket _anything_, and
the store won't do much about it, because they've contracted it out and
get a nice little wedge in comission.

I have to suggest apart from them obviously being in the wrong your
"mum" is very lucky she didn't come back to a pile of twisted metal
and did she have your dad in tow ?. ( if he wasn't then she broke a
    rule or two as well)
