Pick something more suitable than a scooter would be my advice.

Terrific ride ,can you imagine Andy Wilkinsons record 45 Hours LEJOG

I do it unassisted , this year my son is doing it with me, it's a great
ride, should be fantastic on the scooters.

The mind boggles why anyone would consider it.

Someone who mis-read a map and thought it was only a 90 mile bicyle
ride from Great Malvern rather than nearer 120 miles.

Fortunately for us in the support crew it was one of the riders who
did it else we would have been visited from upon high by a great wrath
from a couple of very unhappy, wet and cold bunnies.

    Do it in one go.

Take a 70+ year old rider to kick the shit out of you if you stop for a
rest as "you may get another chance to do Land's End to John O'Groats in
under 24 hours, but I probably won't now get up and get riding you lazy
    fucker"

Realise just how slow the Cornish and Northern Scottish bits are. [1]

Take an unsuitable machine [2] as no-one will be impressed if you do it
    on a tourer.

Thinking back, getting 160 riders from LE to JoG was a lot easier than
getting them from Brighton to Monte Carlo...

[1] The worst riding conditions I've ever had in Scotland have been in
June so don't rely on the weather in the summer.

[2] Ah, you've got that covered!
