That's a bit of a bugger. Didn't realise you had to be a member to access
    that part of the forum.
Anyway it was a 98 GSX600F near bedford that he wanted £350 for (but was
    getting desparate to shift it).
Needed tyres and a new battery for the MOT apparently.
It looked quite tidy in the pics.

were one a 6ft skinny bugger who feels the wind (and rain) rather alot,
would that kind of fairing offer much in the way of protection from the
elements. Also, is the 'seat to bars' distance enough encompass that
length of torso? My er5 sometimes feels a bit cramped and frankly, I can
ride sitting on the back seat!

I've probably got £350 I could spare, and I'm fairly sure I've sat on a
    mate's gsx600f.

I've never sat on one as they are hideous piles of crap.

However, the people I know who have had them, are on the short side.

You'll need a lot more than £350 to get a working bike, even if the seller
is telling the truth. Probably another £150 for tyres & battery plus MOT
fees. Invariably, there is usually something else needed for the MOT.
    Something expensive or rare.

Better to spend your £500 on something working that has a valid MOT.

Sounds fair... "If it was cheap to get an mot, you'd get one".
It seems like a reasonable 'first bike with a fairing' though.

It was my first bike - and I'm 6ft 1in. I liked it - did a bit of
scratching, a little tour of Scotland and a couple of track days
before moving on to a bigger bike a year or two later.
