Laughs aside (and it is *very* funny), this is another example of how
the shit he's done to it surely devalues the car. He'd surely get more
for the car if he took all that tat off again and tried to make it as
stock as possible. In fact, come to think of it, if anyone has time on
their hands, I reckon you could buy that car, clean it up and put it
back on eBay a week later and make some money on it. In fact, come to
think of it (again), you could probably start a business going
    there...

  3. It depends on how cheap you could get a new interior. Then there's the
holes all over the body that'd have to be filled and resprayed once
    you've unbolted all the chavtomisation.

A better ploy would be to stick a slightly bigger wing on the top and
try to sell it as a replica Cessna. Well it's as likely to pass for one
    of those as a Ferrari.

My frickin server... couldn't download most of this thread, despite seeing
    it on google groups.

Looking at the bid history there was one guy who REALLY wanted that - took
the price from £5k to £11k before being pipped by (according to his
feedback) a spammer. Gutted - imagine if you could offload that pile of toss
for £11k? You could make a business of it - buy a cinquecento, do a Blue
Peter on it (all toilet roll tubes and poster paint) and voila - £10k
    profit!

Apparently on date Sat, 12 Mar 2005 16:20:51 -0000, "Nick Drew"
OTOH it looks like some of the bidders on the joke winner and other auctions
involving him might not have been entirely on the level.

As an example, one of the cars was some sort of cheapo wagon and joker1,
outbids someone who first bid 5000 quid for a car that probably didn't cost
that new. Like, they're working as a team maybe? Either way, it's an annoying
feature and eBay ought to not charge a fee when one of their users bids
£100,000 for a cup of tea, even if they do get to claim 1% = £1000 commission
on the "successful" sale, or whatever.
