Any interest in an XL500?

Since I'm soon to be the proud new owner of a Sprint ST, the XL500
    needs to go.

It's currently marked as exported on the DVLA database and is on a
    Belgian NATO plate.

To no great surprise, it looks like it's going to be a royal PITA to
transfer it on to a standard Belgian plate so that I can punt it here
and, for me, it would also be a PITA to insure, MOT and tax it so that
I can get it back on a UK plate. So, there's a potential bargain in
    the offing.

Overall it's in good condition, having been restored 2 years ago, and,
with the exception of the standard XL500 oil leak from the valve
cover, there's nothing wrong with it. It successfully got me to the
French Run this year (and back via Paris) with no major incident

It was originally an Italian import (manufactured in 1983, registered
in the UK in 1996) but, since it has been changed to a UK speedo[1], I
have no idea what the mileage is supposed to be.

I haven't yet made travel arrangements to collect the ST, so I could
ride it over next week if someone wants it.

    So, to summarise:

    Bike: Honda XL500R
    Colour: Red
    Mileage: **** knows
    Location: Belgium
    Price: ?

    Any interest?

Nice bike but the seat height at 910mm = 36" is going to make it too
damn high for a shortarse like me.

    I don't like to jump on bandwagons but I'm only 5' 7" with a 29"
    inside leg.

    Dunno, TBH.

Last time I posted on it, you suggested that it was worth around
£1300, but now you've seen it in the flesh, you'd have a better idea
than me if that is still valid. Then there's the "hassle factor"
discount to get it re-registered, of course.

You have my email address from the French Run, if you want to take it
    to email.

So just how high are bandwagons?
