I've got Elite for the PC and, AFAIK, the only options are whether you play shaded or line-drawn graphics. I was going to check, but it seems that Vista doesn't support it - all I get is a message saying "This system does not support full-screen mode". I saw it too. Of course in those days, a few bytes was quite significant. That 3D monster maze ZX81 game they showed a clip of used to run in 16K. You wouldn't even see a mouse driver in that filesize these days. I remember playing it: it was *unreal* back then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_Monster_Maze

That's my view. I would sometimes have fun figuring out how to slingshot around planets & moons to get to where I wanted to be with the minimul amount of fuel burning. The orbit plotter screen came in handy here.
I tried the two-week trial and gave up after a week - just couldn't get into it and I'm quite a game addict. I suspect you have to be into the RPG thang to get the most out of it, and I'm not.
10+ hours a day during holidays I don't really want to talk about Lemmings. It took us 4 hours to install a mouse. Then we played *sob* Yeah. Half Life was about the end for me.
