Bit of a long shot this, but my mate & I have booked a last minute
trip on the tunnel for tomorrow morning, back Sunday night. Thinking
of going down to around the Luxembourg area, and wondered if there's
any decent roads / areas we should keep an eye out for?

I've heard the beer in Luxembourg descrbed as the following:

"Luxembourg is to brewing, what Korea is to car making. They try very
hard, but there's something not quite right about it" so shall be
sticking to anything brought over from Belgium ;)

    cheers

Go to the Eifel-mountains in Germany, with the Nürburgring as a must, its
only 135 km from Luxembourg to the Nordschleife.

Mark emerged from their own little world to say
Eiffel Mountains & Mosel valley provide decent biking roads. I stayed in
Trier when I was in the area. In Germany, just a few km east of the Lux
    border.

Bitburg is only a few km NE of Lux. Bitburger Pils is excellent and found
    on tap in many places.

If you decide to go to Trier then the Tourist Office will find you
accommodation. Ask them to book you into Hotel Garni Grund. Off street
parking, cheap and in the city centre. Plenty of bars & restaurants nearby.

Was on hols in Luxembourg this year ( in car) and if you head to the roads
around the area known as "Little Switzerland" which is roughly north east of
Luxembourg City (running around Larochette, Diekirch, and out to Echternach
and Vianden). Every weekend the roads were teeming with bikers from
    Germany.

As been mentioned a lot of beer(lager) is german, especially bitburger, but
    I found Diekirch lager OK.

Lots. Watch out for the natives, they drive like loonies.
Very wise. Autumn "Bok" beer is out now, worth trying but it tends to be a
bit sweet and higher than normal in alcohol.

Ewww, never mind. Stay away from those girlies on the Binnenweg.
I'll be up the road at Haven 8200 - ECT container terminal.
