  1. Oooh.. is that what the little lever on the left is for? I always
    wondered.

You have to ride like a complete and utter twat to drop the ZZR's tank
range down to 130 miles to reserve

On last year's St Quentin trip I got 109 miles to reserve. Mostly at 150
on the peage, with occasional drops to a ton when suspicious looking
    cages hove (briefly) into view.

I wouldn't even consider holding my ZZR at a constant 150 for any length
of time on a UK motorway. Firstly, there are very few stretches you can
actually do that with traffic around as it is most of the time in UK.
Secondly, I value my licence too much, fine in France but not over here.
Third, I get bored and end up getting tunnel vision when straight-lining
for any length of time. Finally, I have a modicum of mechanical
    sympathy.

*ding* Fucking *big* fine though[1]. ;^)

This was a Sunday morning on a two / three lane toll road that was
totally empty. Bloody lovely it was.
There was that. When you drop to a ton after 15 minutes[2] or so you
honestly feel like you could get off and run alongside.
Where's the problem? at 150 it was turning (IIRC) about 9000 RPM and was
totally happy. As was I... :^)

[1] Although I now gather it may actually be a jail sentence, which
might slow me down a little in May.
    [2] or 37.5 miles <G>
