Any advance on 301 miles?

Which is how long my last tankful of petrol lasted. Has anyone exceeded this
with a standard sized tank on a production bike?

Hit the reserve at 245 (and that was with a considerable amount of thrashing
it). So, just out of interest, I bungeed 5 litres on the back, and took it
easy until the juice ran out completely (having cleaned out the tank a month
ago). 56 miles, the reserve lasted. Filled up with 13 litres, which works
    out at about 105 mpg.

Is this normal for a CG, or have I got a freak here?

I once got 107mpg out of my old H100. I would expect a CG to do better
    though.

    I got 140mpg out of my GS125 (Suzuki's attempt at a CG125 <MSOTHPR>) a
year or two ago due to riding to work on very icy roads. I doubt I got
over 40mph at all that week. Mostly I get around 110-120mpg and the
throttle stays fully open for most of the journey.

Honda used to make claims of 270mpg IIRC for the C70 around the early
80s. The one I bought one of my exs certainly acheived closer to 250mpg,
when she was using it to travel between London and Bedford on a daily
    basis.

    How were you riding it?
I'm sure that mine would do better if I rode with the traffic instead of
    overtaking it all.

Dunno about freak but there is a fucking wuss riding it.

You should be fucking ashamed of yourself. Anything over 50mpg and you
    simply aren't trying hard enough.

I once got 60mpg out of my 850cc Guzzi. Which is, frankly, amazing as it
    normally returns 35-38mpg

Blimey! What was the tank size, then?

Very small, but she still only filled it every 3 weeks or so when she
was using it daily on a 10 mile round trip.

So, if overtaking everything on the road ain't cutting it, WTF is?
Wheelieing around roundabouts, and going through a clutch every two weeks?

It was mostly commute runs, but I rarely gave it an easy time.

I once got less than 100 miles from a tankful on my FJ.
    Took some doing, mind ;-)

  13. Not I, but then I don't think I ever got more than a 100 miles out of a
tank of petrol (~10 l) on my CG (makes the sign of the holy pushrods) or
    the CB250.

Get about 120 on the ZZR before the reserve lights start to flash.

I get roughly 110 from the CB250RS and have stretched the ZZR11 out to
    215 once.
They are a PITA on the early ZZR11's I owned, too bright and come on way
    too early.

  17. Blimey. I used to fill up every two days when going to Rugby, which
worked out at about 200 miles for a tank.

But mine was *knackered*. I had to refill the oil every day. :-/

Tsk, amateur. *Anybody* can do that.
Takes effort to get below 100 miles from a tank.

  19. The Z200[1] is currently delivering around 65-70 to the gallon[2]. This may
improve when the new air filter arrives.

  20. It feels like it could do a little more in the right conditions, but that's
a little too close to the redline for comfort. It's a cracking little bike,
though - so light and agile and surefooted. Those skinny tyres aren't
bothered by lumps and grooves and white lines. I can just chuck it about at
random and it copes with anything I throw it at.
