ok...on my 88 hawk gt. I'll put coolant up to the line on the overflow
tank...go for a ride, and it will still be on the line...then after
sitting a few days, no coolant in the tank, and no leaks/spots on the
ground, and no milky oil ? where is it going ? thanks

If it's not leaking on the floor, or into the oil, the only other place
it can go is into the combustion chamber, which means badness for you.
Could be something as easy as a bad head gasket, or could be a cracked
head or cooling jacket. If I were you, I would fill it up again, take it
out for a ride, and when you get home (after it's cooled down a bit),
fill the reservoir all the way up, and pressurize the radiator for a
couple of hours. Then, take note of the fluid level. If it's low - take
out the plugs, crank it over, and see which one is spewing the stuff.
That'll at least give you a place to start. HTH.
