Anti-smoking ads

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by George W Frost, Jan 10, 2010.

  1. Just watching a bit of TV news and at every break, they whack on this ad
about giving up smoking just try Nicobate.
    What utter crap.
If they were really fair dinkum about people giving up smoking. they
wouldn't have to advertrise so often.
When a smoker or someone who is trying to give up smoking, the last thing
they want to see or hear, is a spiel about how the cravings get you.
It is almost enough to drive you back to another cigarette
Gives me the shits to hear the ads every five miinutes or so

Is it possible that you're not in their demographic target?
    What is it, 2GWR?

Why do you choose to listen to a station that gives you the shits?

That's the problem of living in todays times
Every channel run the same ads
No matter which one, you will get an ad telling you to quit and how hard it
is to give up except of course, when you use their special patches or
    whatever.
My main bitch is that it is hard to quit smoking and someone trying to quit,
does not want ads telling them how hard it is.
I agree with many here who have quit "cold turkey"
it is the only way to quit
    anything else is a sham
You don't quit smoking by cutting down from 50 a day to 45 a day
Or even from 5 a day to 2 a day
Geezus, if anyone smoked 5 a day and said they were addicted to smoking
habits, then they are fooling no-one but themself.
My sister smokes 1 packet of 20 a week and says she can't give it up
    bloody ridiculous

Personally, I don't smoke and I find it very intrusive and disgusting when I
go from an office building, or worse, a hospital, to find 1 or more smokers
standing near the doorway puffing their lungs out and having to hold my
breath while I walk through the stink.
The smokers do not realise that they carry the stench of stale smoke in
    their clothes and hair.
Damn, its as bad as having the dentist poking around in your mouth just
after she has had a feed of garlic

George, I'm a smoker, have been since my teens. I haven't had a smoke
for three years now but that doesn't make me a non-smoker.
Some people are vegetarians. Some of those find the stench of meat-
eaters objectionable. do you give a shit?

Please don't mention vegetarians and shit in the same paragraph.

    Thank you.
