I've just taken my race exhaust off for the summer. It was too much
of an attention grabber and sooner or later it'd be the wrong kind of
    attention.

Amusingly the standard Suzuki titanium can is lighter than a 300 quid
Remus Titanium can. And it still sounds fecking loud.

I'm thinking about getting a K&N and a nice legal quill T3 for the ZRX,
then getting it dynojetted with that on as it'll still breathe a lot
better than the heavy standard pipe with a catalyst in it.

Lots more people being stopped round here this year too.

I never bothered putting the Micron can back on my bike after the MOT
last year. The other 2 bikers who live close to me have both been
stopped this year for loud cans & small plates. Not worth the attention
    as you say.

Mind you I can definately say the standard can is significantly heavier
that the CF Micron. Still blardy loud at 12000rpm as well :)

I *love* the way the stock pipe sounds - there's no way I'd want to
    make any more noise.

When Daz had a go on mine last year at Hulland Ward (before he got
his), he came past the pub flat chat and it sounded like a fucking jet
    fighter. Fantastic.

I've considered a Quill but there isn't a lot of point. The noise
from the standard doesn't sound too much like a hair-dryer, and it's
not like I need any more power...

Yeah, just not worth a rectification notice or a collar for something
more serious because I've caught their attention.
The 750 can was heavy. The 1000 can is all titanium innards and a
thin aluminium outer shell. Weighs bugger all.

For me it's not about the noise, but about the fact kawasaki but a ****
off catalytic convertor in the endcan which steals a fair amount of
    power.

Yeah, I fired it up in the garage and it didn't sound too dissimilar
in volume to the Remus. Sound wasn't quite a harsh though.
Yeah, I followed him on his a couple of weeks back and it sounded
    good.

Will you really notice the difference?

Did you remove the catalyser from your car? Do you have a problem with there
being a catalyser in your car?

Yes, as soon as the scorpion can went on the bike's throttle response
improved no end, much more top end too, and fuel consumption improved.
I don't own a car, my company does, I just drive it and put petrol in
it. Fact of life that cars all have catalysts nowadays, and they're
generally not worth removing because there's no way to exploit the extra
performance of a car in "normal" use.

  12. That's why I never replaced mine [1]. i do notice that the K3 and later
have a much longer can than the K1-K2 though. Probably quieter still.

    Following you to Italy...

It's a fact of life that new bikes have them too.

    That's for the catalyser.

I quite like the sound of my Scorpion exhaust. I only bought it to
prevent the standard item deteriorating during the winter. It only
    cost 89ukp
I got mine out the other day for the MOT and thought I had marked the
wrong box because it felt empty.

That's a reasonable point but my bike is a toy and I don't plan on
    riding in the winter.

But don't have to comply with immisions regulations. :)

Er - yes they do - Possibly not for tax reasons (yet) but otherwise yes they
    do...

And did you mean emissions, or have I been whooshed?

I didn't wash mine for the whole winter - bit of a wash and a little autosol
    and it polished up beautifully.

In fact, my care plan of "don't bother washing it, just spray appropriate
bits with FS365 every time it goes out" seems to be working
    quite well.

Do you have to buy an aftermarket can if you want to be a power ranger then?
    Do they make exceptions?
