He has had his best qualifying result this weekend since coming back to the Australian Superbike Championships. Josh Brookes won the WSS race at Phillip Island in 2004 before getting seriously injured. I'm not sure how 2005 Anthony Gobert compares with earlier versions, but the Aust Superbike series is at a very high standard at the moment, so he must be riding ok. Gobert's stated he wants to use this year as a stepping stone to get back overseas.
