    Storyline
"Nineteen year-old Franco-Arab Malik El Djebena is just starting his six
year prison sentence in Brécourt. Although he has spent the better part of
his life in juvenile detention, this stint is his first in an adult prison.
Beyond the division of Corsicans and Muslims in the prison (the Corsicans
who with their guard connections rule what happens in the prison), he has no
    known friends or enemies inside."

I bought the DVD ages ago but then "lost" it. Turned up last night. It's
    long, 155m long. French. Subtitled.
I thought it was pretty excellent, recommended to watch.

OK it was pretty excellent for a subtitled French film, putting it in
    context.
Not as good as Baise-Moi though

I read good reviews and purchased (apple tv).

Then saw the subtitles... since I watch most films after the first
forty minutes with my eyes shut this really needs to be watched at a
    different time of day...

Couldn't agree more. A rather excellent film.

For a camcorder film with zero budget you can't help being impressed
with what they achieved, but it's not actually a very good film.

The most emotional thing about Baise-moi is the incredibly sad story of
actress Karen Lancaume (Karen Bach), which (for me anyway) over shadows
the film whenever I try to watch it.
