It's not metallic, it's a red chrome effect decal that's been lacquered
    over.

I had made a point of stopping trying to be subtle on ukrm, but I
    thought that one was obvious.

At a guess, it's normal paint in a colour described as Lamborghini Black,
and all you'll need is a batch mixed up to match. Somebody like Beav or
Owen should be able to give you chapter and verse.

It wasn't the bike he broke. Just everything else.

    the bike's completely unscathed, then?

My understanding was that it sighed happily at another job well done, and
then went for a little lie down.

No, but apparently only needs a fairing, a front wheel, and a couple
of ancillairies. And I've already got the wheel.

Hmmm. That sort of sales demo might be difficult for me to provide,
    however...

  17. For starters I'd make sure you've *actually* got them on the bike and FFS,
    you don't want them shiny.

    ZX10Rs do crash amazingly well.

This is what Danny's looked like after it tumbled across tarmac and
grass when he lost the front in the pouring rain, going into Graham
Hill at Brands whilst leading from Michael Neeves.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/78131584@N00/2741406068/sizes/o/

He was 2 secs ahead and Neeves was catching at 1 sec a lap. The last
pit board I gave read +2, 1 lap to go - he wasn't in any danger of
being caught, and then Neeves would have had to find a way round him,
but he decided to try and keep a big margin and overcooked it on the
brakes. We had discussed changing the quite worn front wet but Danny
    decided he'd give it a shot...it didn't work.

After two rather heavy crashes at Mallory in one weekend the bike did
look a little more second hand than this. That required a new fairing,
seat, rear subframe and front airtube/fairing mount amongst many
things. Strangely, he never managed to bend forks, yokes or wheels in 4
    years of falling off.
