Oddly enough I thought it was reasonable. My halfords combo cost me 120
quid and whilst it's good enough, it was half price and has nowhere near
the storage of the Clarke stuff.

Whilst searching for that I note that money tells me I've only spent 800
quid at Halfords over the last 12 years. Hmm seems a bit light 14 grand
in all on 'servicing' which considering only about 2k has gone to others
this seems more like it. 80 quid a month on tools, oil and sundries.
Ouch! Even worse... 32 grand on fuel in the same period.

Yeah but that's the largest one and it is huge. Price the same volume from
    Mr Snap-On!

  5. I've bought from Clarks:

Bench grinder. Works OK but the motor is bigger than the wheels so you
can't grind knives they've made the motor smaller now.

MIG welder. I use CO2 from the pub and 7 lb reels of wire because it's a
load cheaper. It's only 20% rated but does everything I want.

Compressor, good valve for money never broke down, Champ has it now.

Power washer worked for years until it got caught out in the shed with
    an early frost.

Small cheap submerse-able pumps for the fish pond. Bearings and water
    seals made out of putty.

Larger 'professional' as above no problems.

    High pressure pumps no probs.

Water pressure regulator pumps (used to maintain water pressure in a
    house) no probs.

The only thing I've found in the past, is exactly the same stuff can be
bought in Le Roy Merlins in Boulogne for half the price. (At 9 FF/£)

What spec did you need in cfm to drive a rattle gun? I feel that it's
one of those things I really ought to have in my workshop yet haven't
    got around to buying one.

  9. If I drive the support vehicle can I bring back a bathroom suite?

    http://www.leroymerlin.fr/

There prices vary and so does the exchange rate.
When they have a special offer on, it *is* special.
I'm on their mailing list for offers, some are very good, others the
    same price as here.

I'm also on the mailing list for coughAldicough. The pikey amongst you
may want to know that the week 8/1/04 they have DVD burners +&-
    including bundled software for £79.99

I spent £200 on an American-Pro 10 drawer roll cab, which I thought was
reasonable. Wasn't ball bearing sliders though.

With the two Teng boxes on top I have to stand on old ammunition box to
look in the top drawers. I'm a bit taller than Lozzo.
