I remember the day of Charles & Diana's wedding. My mate and I went on
a great bike trip down to Brighton, pretty much empty roads all day!

 

So do I - I'd joined the Navy 2 days earlier and we had the option of

it on telly or polishing our boots.

It was my 21st birthday, I had a t shirt with "What Wedding" on the front.

The time she died was even better. I was asked to leave by s/o friends in
Hastings as I'd been gloating and the roads back to Oxford were empty.

No it was a properly printed one with a bloke peering out from behind a
newspaper, sitting at the breakfast table, IIRC.

 

The day she died was the day after we had our Humanist Naming Day for
the lad. Wouldn't have bothered me, but it might have put a damper on
the proceedings for some of our guests if it had been the day before.

I thought I was giving a friend a lift. He thought he was going to
rob a sub-post office.

Fortunately he lost his nerve.
