    Yeah probably.

All I really know is it was Brrrrrrrrrrrmmmmm noise, I think in 4th,
then I realsied there was a van with gatso logos on the back so
braked, looked at the needle and it had fallen to below 80.

Not like I can do anything about it anyhow, but 6 points might just
**** up a sensible bike renewal on a 10R next year. Ho hum.

    I doubt it.
BEWARE that in the Avon & Somerset police area they have switched off
all of the fixed cameras because there is no funding for the
"safety partnership". This means that there will be NO speed awareness
courses which were run by the same people. So if one of the increased
mobile cameras catches you there will be a fine/points and no option.

Wouldn't worry about it too much. I still declare 9 points and I covered
the gixer for 150 quid this year. NCB is far more important than points.

I was wondering why WUN was frothing at the mouth about the average
speed cameras on the M1 at the moment. Until I realised that the speed
cameras may be watching the opposite carriageway :-(

    Don't think so though.

Highly unlikely unless it's in a contraflow section.

£150? FFS, my multi-bike was something like £450 with 11 yrs NCB. I
guess it's the 10R and ZRX1200 combined that stitch me up.

I should probably see how much something sensible like a Triumph
Daytona 675 would actually cost on it's own.

    That's TPFT, but with 9 points (CD10 + SP50) and (I think) 4 years' NCB.
I think they only asked for three years' claim history so no need to
disclose my big at-fault claim. I don't think FC was a massive amount
more, but I'd be unlikely to ever claim on it so I didn't bother with
    the extra.

It's pretty much exactly what I paid to insure the RGV with 2 years' NCB
the year before. The KTM was about 350 quid, though that should come
    down a bit this year.

I wouldn't bother with a multibike policy for two bikes - I'd rather
have two sets of NCB so I never find myself without.

Hmm.. I should insure something cheap at some point to build up a 2nd
ncb I s'pose, just having them all on a multibike with protected NCB
    seemed the least hassle.

    EXACTLY!

You say bait, I say frank and fair assessment.

    Stinky either way, admittedly.

I wasn't worried about the averaging ones, it's the (rear facing)
variable cameras that appear to have gone live.

As seen on the A38 near Coventry on Sunday.

Not good. We had to slow down and everything.

[1] Suffice to day I had it pinned up the M1 from London to Derby at
the weekend to get there before dinner went cold.

  15. I got banned on my very first offence. "In excess of 118 mph" in 1984.

  16. Yeah, I just insured the GPz750 for £125 with nine points, as well.
Surprised me, that did. Fully comp, too. TPF&T was only £15 cheaper.

Well that's where we were headed at the time. Would you prefer if I just
described it as "outside the M25"?

Hah! My first offence was in 1976. Riding my SL125 while only 16 and
    without insurance.

Me too, which is why I always use the cruise control when doing the 419
on my way to Brum at stupid o'clock.
You'd be fine if it was 90 on the speedo, but as you're just guessing,
    fingers crossed...
