Read the comic yesterday, but was onlt on way to work this morning on the
Daytona[1] when I was thinking [2] about the first story....

(For those who don't read MCN they identified a number of Diesel spilss and
phoned the police to see what happened)

.... and I realised that they identified potentially dangerous diesel spills
and phoned plod to see what would happen but
*left_the_fucking_diesel_on_the_roads/roundabouts* while they watched for a
    few hours.....

Why couldn't they spot the spill, phone plod to check what happens but then
lob some of EMAPs hard earned sand (or whatever you use to clean up a diesel
spill) on the slicks and lob up a couple of home-made "Beware: Diesel
    Spill" signs?

I bet they'd have loved it if someone had crashed in front of them to add
some juicy details to the story....

Its almost as bad as that Kevin Ash boasting last week about how its great
that people raise £3000 to go on a holiday across India of which a full half
goes to charity - that's not great that's selfish. I paid my own way round
Aus 'cos it *was* a fun holiday for me and all the money I raised[3] went to
    RfH, not just fucking half.....

[1] And I nearly made it before I ran out of petrol.... 25 miles with the
fuel light on doesn't really seem that much[4]
[2] In between thinking about getting the right lines and all that[5]
[3] Over £4k in the end which gave me a nice warm feeling inside
[4] But then again it was commuting through Nottm city centre miles, so not
    too bad I suppose
[5] OK, I admit, it was early morning[6] and I was on auto-pilot and could
have been out ridden by an amoeba on a 30 year old C50....
[6] 9.30am - which is early if you work for t'council.....

I saw it as well - and as for those being dangerous diesel spills -
found that laughable. It would have been more dangerous if they had
put sand on it to clear it! And as for the "police unit 100yards away"
    - it was council camera van who doesnt even listen to police radios
and doesnt come under the control of the police control room - they
wouldnt even have known it was there!
If they are going to do an article like this at least make it half
    decent.
