Another half-brick

Filtering through some slow-ish moving traffic this morning, and I
noticed the car in front to the right flip something up from its
near-side rear wheel, which promptly went under my front wheel..

By the way the bars jerked violently and I got bounced up in the air and
winded, I'm fairly sure it was a half-brick.

Fortunately, it doesn't appear to have dented the front wheel this time,
but it does seem that it's flipped up and caught the fairing hard enough
to pop out a couple of fairing bolts, which I'm sure Kawasaki will take
great delight in charging me over the odds for.

I did have a brief moment of concern when I got bounced up in the air,
    but it passed.

Last time I hit one, I was caning it somewhat, so I had plenty of
forward momentum and just smashed the brick rather than getting bounced
    around.

This time, as I was filtering, I was going much slower and the effect
    was much worse.

The lesson is: faster is better.
Ta. Probably woke a few car drivers up when the bike went all bouncy.

I had a bit of a fright too. On the freeway making progress, something
flashed pass me just to my left. It looked like a half sheet of plywood
[1] disappearing in the mirrors. That would have hurt.

[1] Huge building project right next to the freeway.
