Be aware that the Chunnel charges outfits at car rates.

Not when the Sidewinder is bungeed up to the back of the bike and no
sidecar wheel is on the ground.

I think it's about 15l but I'm not sure without checking.

The 690 has a useful feature in that once the fuel warning light has
come on another trip appears on the dash so you know how many miles
    you've done on 'reserve'.

OK, so I'll budget for something like 140-150 miles on my 18l tank. No
way will I do that without stopping for a break in the middle, mind.
heh - have you seen the "dash" on the 640? It's somewhat...basic.

I'm really glad I re-read this - I was just about to book the
    EuroTunnel for the weekend before.

Takes longer, much more faffing to get on, the tunnel doesn't take long
    enough to get boring.

  14. 50mins, plus you get a chance to stretch your legs, take in the bracing sea
air, relax & have a coffee and a pastry.

Personally I can't stand using the EuroSewer (for Leisure Trips), but its
all down to personal choice in the end innit.

I'm still watching the weather forecast before committing to a tunnel
    booking.

It's in the dog days, it's going to be wet, it can't be as bad as last
year's run down in Noah weather.

    I hope.

No, Since it arrived I've only had 2 full days at home and I've either
been otherwise occupied or it's been raining. I've no objection to
foul weather riding but I want to do the first run on an unfamiliar
    bike in dry weather.
