I think I've mentioned before the occasion on which me and a mate were B&Bing over on the West coast of France - one day we rode to the beach in shorts&Tee-shirts, he on a Zephyr 1100 and me on a TDM850 (see, I told you it was some time ago) and parked up in a carpark. At the same time a full-dress glodwing pulls up, with a couple aboard in complete matching outfits, from helmets down to boots. OK, you may say, that's not actually a crime, although it came quite close. So anyway, we got chatting, as you do, and mentioned that we were dossing about 15km away, hence our beach attire, and asked how far they'd come. "We live in Biarritz", they said, which we'd ridden through the day we rode up to our current location in the Landes. We'd got soaked that day, so cut it very short, at around 100km, so it clearly wasn't a big deal for them on a wing, but they then went on to say "but we didn't ride all the way here - we put the bike on the train for most of the journey and just rode here from the station". I am doing my damndest to get my hands on this Sidewinder so I can trundle across the channel on the SpazzTrakka in typical 'UKRM does long distance mong-bikes' fashion.
