When I've mentioned his name in the past he's emailed me. :)

They certainly do in NSW. The level of education provided to novice
bikers far exceeds that provided to learner drivers

Replying to myself which is all wrong, but also noting the vast majority
of urban crashes are multi vehicle (hence near enough for the bush to
say about 2/3rds of city crashes are the fault of another vehicle rather
than the 50% you suggest Theo). The stats get skewed if you add rural
and urban together because the flip side is the case on the open road -
vast majority of the crashes are single vehicle. Add the two together
and you get the apparent 50/50 you raise Theo - which really isn't the
    case - of the 4 possibilities 90+ % fit into 1 of 2.

Bikers usually crash in Oz because either a) a blind/stupid/incompetent
driver mows them down or b) they cock up handling their machine in a
situation that turns out to be different to their expectation

If you assume it's a or b you've got a fairly accurate heuristic. The
exceptions outside those 2 are fairly rare.

Hmm well he'll have to use his brain to work out how to contact me, will
be interesting to see whether he's capable of working it out.

    JL
(I mean, GB worked it out, so it can't be THAT hard ! :)

  6. I didn't see that, and I'm certainly not going to justify it with
    a response!

    GB, oops!

Am I ? Do you have any empirical data to back up that proposition ?

No. They didn't ask me. Nor did they ask about the white overalls, or
    the yellow leathers.

But, if they had, I'd have lied. ;-)

Whether I am fooling myself that it works, or not, I think it works for
me, so the last thing I want is everyone else doing the same, by legal
requirement or as a matter of style. :)

You're losing track of the thread Shane. My above comments had nothing at all to do with the lights on/off discussion.
