Intelligence has nothing to do with it, I just happen to be awake.

You two would be shit in a pub quiz.

Now that's something I wish I could do. Where can I buy one of these
    relevance filters?

  4. Factory-fit option only I think. The workshop *might* be able to bodge
    one with a big hammer.

The name rang a bell for me, but I had no idea about *who* she actually
was and needed to ask the misses, who is my celebrity trivia
    correspondent.

Only if the quiz was based on psuedo-celebrity tat.

As opposed the the "I'm above all that" quiz which tests you on your
knowledge of Jung but with no sport or music questions.

I'll ask. Perhaps then I could forget about Richard Hammond's
internationally important car crash and remember who won the Turner
    Prize.

There's your problem. Pictures would have helped.

  10. Some men do too. And for things other than 'celeb' trivia - I can
remember all sorts of utterly useless trivia without even trying..

    Champ says...
It's simple, Kerry Katona was the one with the huge tits from Atomic
Kitten. Easy to spot as the others were more to your's and my taste.

I'm glad you were there to answer for me. Quite right on both counts.
Absolute bullshit. I make a point of reading the BBC news website
every day, and often others, like the times and telegraph. I admit to
not watching much TV news, but that's really because they tend to
spend 25 minutes talking about who's fucked up biggest in the UK
government and what the latest is from Irag, then five minutes with
shit like this. I never get to the end of a news broadcast.
This is what I don't get - surely when you see an article about
something like this you just auto-skip past it? Or switch channels.
It's not rocket science - anyone could be as ignorant if they just
    applied themselves a little.

What I find most upsetting is that apparently you, and others who know
about this stuff, must actually find it interesting. I mean, WHY, FFS?

Do you really think the amount of coverage some gold-digging floosy
generated is a par with these two stories? If so, I'd suggest you're
    sadly deluded.

Or you're able to filter it out without it touching the sides.
Actually, I'm pretty good at quizzes, provided they don't focus on
football, recent pop music or celebrity gossip.

    <thinks>

This isn't the sort of pub quiz you go to, is it?

Whilst I'd flounder on topics covering football, I could handle (some)
other sports questions. Music would depend on the category, so would film
and TV questions. I just don't follow celebrity gossip, and even if I
hear it, I tend to forget it.

When ones brain only has room for trivia on either "celebrities" or
"70s prog rock" or even "mid-80s Kawasakis", I reckon we each have to
make a simple choice. Your friend just made a different choice to the
one you or I would make, that's all.
