  1. I find your wheedling and prating offensive. Be off with you.

    Sounds plausible.

I do think though that a lot of it is control of one's own destiny: we
can't control sume nutter with a bomb, but we all like to think,
rightly or wrongly, that we are more in control of the situation when
    we're in the driving seat.

Like everyone else on the road, I know that I'm an above-average
rider/driver and It Won't Happen To Me.

Not entirely convinced that the 'maquis' ever knowingly directly
targeted civilians though. I will stand corrected if an example can be
    quoted.

They certainly had the odd falling out amongst themselves on political
lines apparently (excellent musee de la resistance v. near 'the
    chateau').

    Bad form etc.

    "sume nutter"?

    <fx: beats head against wall>

    There, that fixed it.

    "some nutter"

Well if this had turned in to a good old fashioned noise nuisance case
under the Environmental Protection Act 1990, there may eventually have
been an appeal against a statutory notice, or a prosecution for failure
to comply. In each case disclosure under the current rules would
probably have resulted in the alleged perpetrators having sight of the
evidence against them - but not before formal action had been
    instigated.

ASBO procedures are different though as they were intended to rely on
'professional' witnesses and not identify plaintiffs. Big cock up -
Ombudsman finding of maladministration inevitable I would say.

Having been one myself, I'm well aware of how bullying victims react.

He's definitely the kid who always ran to teacher though.

  9. There you are, you see - use of the terms 'nigger' et al can be put in a
context that isn't inherently racist. You thick twat.

So, (allegedly) you would NOT be (allegedly) interested in (allegedly)
purchasing any of my (allegedly) fine eBay offerings, anyway, correct?

My policies seem to be as perfectly fitted to your politics as the OP's
politics are fitted to his eBay results!

    So, it's ALL (allegedly) good!

Actually, you're the one who is brain dead. I didn't "trawl" through
years worth of eBay buying, I looked at ONE item that was referenced in
the OP. I said NOTHING about your negs, nor did I say anything about
anyone calling you an asshole, either.

You, otoh, seemed to have not only imagined those non-existent
activities and comments, but ALSO imagined that I had no eBay
experience. Then, later, you amended your imagination because I said
I have *sold* 350 items on eBay to assert that I only have HALF your
eBay experience. There is such a thing as eBay buying, and there is
feedback for that, too. Stick around eBay? I've been on under the
    same userid since 1999.

"This listing (#8076755650) has been removed or is no longer
    available."

    Heh. I rest my case.

You do get points for having a particularly vivid imagination, though.

  13. For that matter, remember when Osamma, Mullah Omar
and their crews of Mujahideen were freedom fighters and
we were busily supplying them and every other Afghani
in sight with with arms and money ?

    Or how about this gem:

"The United States finds the present Iranian regime's
intransigent refusal to deviate from its avowed objective
of eliminating the legitimate government of neighboring
Iraq to be inconsistent with the accepted norms of behavior
among nations and the moral and religious basis which it claims."

So who do you think was "the legitimate government of neighboring
    Iraq" in 1983 ?

  14. They're simple Brits. They know nothing of evil empires,
having never had one of their own.

Anyway, with an attitude like that, I say they're no longer
welcome to use our dollars. So there !!

  15. Oh dear, what an ignorant coment, you've completely showed your lack of
education up there matey. Don't they teach history at school in America
    then?

  18. I vaguely recalled something about "sun never sets on the evil empire".
Or was that somebody else ?

  19. Actually, I missed this bit. Check other posting for explanation and new

  20. I'm still waiting for one of the less clued-up[1] Yanks to trot out the
line: "If we hadn't declared war on Hitler, you'd all be speaking
    Germany."

It's always good for a giggle when they're proven wrong.

[1] Spoiled for choice here, mind.
