I assume you deliberately left out the bit about letting the ones go who
    aren't militant paramilitaries......

Like they were going to with at least one of the ones who hanged himself in
despair the other week, but they "didn't know how to tell him".....

  7. and they'd have preferred to have had a speedy trial. Perhaps
you feel the IRA internments were completely on the up and up ?

What I'm not trying to do is get into a debate about who did worse.
What I am pointing out is that neither the U.S. nor U.K. has always
been so conscientious about improsonments and trials.

As in the case of WWII, I'm sure we'll later come up with some pile
of crap later calling the whole thing regrettable.

How long did they have to wait?
The perils of being a terrorist.
Perhaps we should have done what America does now and execute people without
trial on the off chance they are terrorists?
    Right.

The terrorists have got everyone on edge with a 'shoot now, sort it out
later' mindset creeping in form the armed forces to the police.

'They' have won if this is going to be the 'norm'.

  18. So you see yourselves as the victims of bad advice ? You would
never have let this happen if it weren't for those Israelis ?

    Just curious.

Shit, 'bad advice' flows like the Niagra falls these days, and not just
from the Israeli's. Each nation picks and chooses what it wants to
believe to fit in with whatever agenda is on the table, on the day!

But what are the options?.....let the terrorists do the killing first,
then try to catch them? It's getting messy out there with suspicion and
    fear being the winners.

My view, would be to send specialist groups (SAS, SEALs etc.) after the
terrorist cells and 'take them out'. It's no use having a country vs.
country war over a mionrity of extremeists (on both sides).
