  1. Well, I'm not Jewish -- or African!

  2. No, I agree, but I do believe that most Jews do get done, and I seem to
remember someone in history relied heavily on that theory to confirm
    said membership.

The original point was that it's been stated that Mr. R is devoid of
said bit and that the picture shows him still attached to it and
therefore is false. Of course, we now await someone who's actually seen
the play to confirm or otherwise the bollocksness of this.
That's me out then - in more ways than one!

Male circumcision is widely practised in Africa but only among
certain tribes and in all Muslim areas. The current right idea is to
have all men in Africa circumcised to prevent the terrible spread of
AIDS. Recent medical studies overwhelmingly urge this since the
circumcised male is less likely to get the AIDS virus when having
intercourse with a female carrier. This a medical issue not a religious
one as with all Jewish men who under the command of God to Abraham are
circumcised on the 8th day of life and given their names.

"The increased risk of HIV in uncircumcised men was originally
discovered in Kenya in the late 1980s, when it was found that
uncircumcised men exposed to HIV infected prostitutes were three to four
times more likely to become HIV positive within a year."

    http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/32887.html

"The data presented in Washington showed a reduction in risk for HIV
infection among circumcised men in the Kenyan trial of 53%. Over the
course of the trial, there were 22 new HIV infections that occurred
among the circumcised men versus 47 among the uncircumcised men. The
annual incidence for HIV infection was approximately 1% among
circumcised men versus over 2% among uncircumcised men. No significant
differences in sexual behaviours between circumcised and uncircumcised
    men were observed."

    etc.

  7. Thanks for that. I'm surprised, having thought that it was some piece of
disinformation/mumbo jumbo dreamed up by the usual rumour mill.
Must be the virus finds a cosy place to hold up under the foreskin.

There is a particular type of skin cell thereabouts, Langerhan's cells,
which it is alleged allow the HIV-1 virus to pass through. It's been
done here before. There is some debate about this in the medical world.
