To accompany our beloved White Labrador Bitch, Poppy comes a Black
    Labrador Bitch called Rosie:

    <http://www.bgn.me.uk/poppy/rosie.jpg>

We're picking her up on on 21st December when she'll be 8 weeks old.
Poppy dog <http://www.bgn.me.uk/poppy/poppy3.jpg> is now just under 11
months old and is still a lovely monster, even if she is a full time
    pest.

Still... she'll be fully grown at two and-a-half years.

Sweet. My dog's mother's called "Rosie" (Springer).
Fully grown *up*, IME of labs it's only around 2-3 that they settle
down. I *love* labradors and wish circumstances allowed me to have
another (I grew up with them and have had two myself.) They really
aren't part-time dogs though, need a lot of work.

  4. Hah. My oldest fiend has had Labs for years. Her 12 year old Golden is still
certifiiable. Lovely dogs, as you say. But loopy.

  5. Definite saccharine alert there.
Heavens, what a lot of legs that dog has. They are both distinctly cute.

I hear they give them to blind people as punishment for their sins.

It's a shame they don't stay like that for long. :) When that photo
was taken she'd just finished having a suckle on her mother.

She comes from a litter of nine of which eight survived. Parents both
pedigree and good natured. Will cost about £100 to insure for a year
with my beloved employer's top package and various discounts.
On 14th April Poppy looked like this
<http://www.bgn.me.uk/poppy/poppy.jpg> and on 18th July she had
    transformed into <http://www.bgn.me.uk/poppy/poppy4.jpg>. In three
months she turned from that little weed to the bigger weed, the only
thing apart from the colour which makes them look alike is the left
ear injury she had before we got her. When she was four weeks old she
got munched up by another dog on the (cattle) farm. If you look at
the younger shot you can see marks in her hair going down her back,
under those are scars and scrape marks from the same event. She still
has them now as well as the scar under her left eye, but her hair has
grown over it a bit more

She now weighs over five stones but isn't fat, just growing into a
    large flavour Lab.

Funny. I was thinking of you yesterday when I had to pay 700 BGN's for
    my hotel room.

Yup. Picked her up yesterday and took her for her vaccinations today.

Poppy (11 month old lab) wasn't too impressed with her at first but
once she realised this little black thing would play with her she was
quite happy. Pops does play a bit 'rough' (and always has done) she
also weighs about five and a half stones. I have said "Take that dog
out of your mouth" a couple of times to her but Rosie appears to be
    quite happy with it all.

Whinged all night (ear plugs are great) up to the point where I felt
that I should remove Poppy from the kitchen and take her up to bed
with me so she'd get some sleep but didn't in the end.

Leave an old, unwashed shirt with her. She'll relax, cos she'll think
you're next to her or nearby.

    Old trick, works a treat.

  13. A not too hot water bottle is supposed to help too? Not tried it.

She had Poppy Dog for company. I'll review the situation tonight.

Also: I don't have any old shirts.

  16. Oh God, of course, she's a Lab. I recall my friend's Golden eating the
    washing machine rubber liner.

She's currently eating her new bed, Poppy and the baby gate which
keeps her and her nemesis in the kitchen when required.

Rosie has enough to worry about without the added trauma of wearing
    LAST SEASON.
