  1. [bad form, yadda yadda]

Thank you all for thoughts, I'm not going to
    reply to all posts though...

but just to answer the common question:

no, she's not ginger. She's got black hair.

And she's got her mother's nose[1], rather than
    mine. The lucky girl.

And there will a lot of listening to BBC radio (4
    for preference)...

    [1] knock yourself out porl.

Anybody else read that in the voice of the coloured kid from "Malcolm in the

    Congratulations to you and Claire.

And remember, little girls don't actually exist, they are just miniature
    women.

I don't make a point of watching it, but it's often quite good.

Hmm. Well, the adult nose doesn't appear until puberty, so I wouldn't
    count your chickens yet.

Doesn't take much thinking about, acherly :) The question is, will
she grow up a ging-ger like her mum?

  13. maybe in character but aparently (and I'm happy to be corrected|) but
gingerness often skips generations so Will & Claire will likely have
    ginger grandsprogs.

Congratulations to the pair of you too.

Eh? I can only presume you're referring to the Graingers, or is there
    something Jude's not telling me?

  16. I was referring to the Graingers. Claire is ginger and her daughter
isnt so its likely that Ellen [1] will produce ginger offspring.

If Jude's mother was ginger, its likely you'll have ginger sprogs.

[1] it was Ellen wasnt it?

I remember reading somewhere that gingerness was a recessive gene so
in reproduction with a ginger and a non-ginger the non-ginger would
    always be dominate.

Someone who knows about genes will be along shortly to tell me I'm
    talking bollocks.
