Wa-hey! Congratulations to the proud mum and dad from Suze and I!

Although not qualified to comment (but hell, this is ukrm, right?), I'm
led to believe there'll be a wee bit more of the lack of sleep thing...
    ;-)

    Ellen's a nice name, too.

I'd meant to post this last night, but the beer and BBQ prevented my

Ah, 6 weeks of rest for this young lady, and well deserved.
Congrats. Mine is in the garden playing in his paddling pool as I
type. It gets better day by day.

But that's not why she had a caesarean...

Show this bit to the wife:

Induce-ment started at 3pm Friday with gel. (Due date was 23rd May)
Contractions started by about 5pm. Up to delivery unit at 10.30pm.
Assisted breaking of waters at 11.15pm. Just as midwife waS leaving,
baby's heart beat dropped from normal (120-160 bpm[1]) to about 60ish,
and stayed there for a couple of minutes. Got back to normal...
11.45pm ish, heart rate drops again... I blinked, and then we
were in the operating theatre, with the gasman talking about
using a general as a spinal anesthetic would take to long...

And then the heart rate picked up again...

Over the next 8 hours, no more dilation happened, and lots
of monitoring (and epidurals not working properly). And so, at 8am, it
was decided to go for a c-section, which went straightforwardly,
and so she was born at 9.07 am.

    Okay? ;-)

    [1] added for non midwifes...
