And so the world ... erm ... continues turning.

As of monday, I shall no longer be of the great unwashed,
but I shall be back behind a desk in an office across the
road from where I used to work, but with a nice 20% increase
    in my pay packet.

    Hurrah.

So the budget has now been set for next year's race series
and I've gone and purchased myself a rather impressive 620
engine (618cc of the fuel injected variety) which is kicking
out just under 67bhp and will slot straight into my frame.
It comes with a custom FIM chip, Power Commander for those
last minute tweaks, the ECU and loom to make it go suck,
squeeze, bang and something else too. All I need now is some
nice 'zorts for it (I feel a trip to MHP on the cards as
Mark has done all the top bikes in our series so far) and
then can spend the rest on some new fairing and tarting
    the other un-tarty bits up.

I might even get round to MOT'ing the 748 and taking that
out for a ride. Oh, and the trailer has just had a new pair
of hubs ordered for it, so it's now turning into Trigger's
Broom [1] but its still been cheap so far.

Right, so Rockingham to look forward to on sunday and then
our last round at Cadwell on the 9th October.

Remember you'll get taxed an extra 3k/yr for the priviledge of having
your private mileage paid for, if your commute isn't too heavy it can be
worth taking a standard mileage allowance.

    Just a thought, like.

Well done. Man gets a better job and spends the extra dosh on
motorcycles. God's in his heaven and all's right with the world.

    Never mind dude.

On the bright side though, summer is all but over anyway so you won't be
    missing too much fun.

Could be worth a shot - I'm sure you'd be able to
sell sand to the Arabs if you tried.

PS. Must do dinner soon. We'll invite you over now
    our kids are reasonably behaved.

Rocky is only a trackday, but will have tickets for
Cadwell as usual if you want one.

Thanks. Quite looking forward to it actually as it's
a move into some real interesting technology along with
broadening my horizons in the .Net arena, which ain't
    no bad thing.
    Good luck!

In that case, I'd say take the petrol card.. you'll always find you use
    more when it's "free".

    Congrats prematurely.

Yeah, I've just been offered a car as well and am doing the sums. The
only problem is it has to be a Focus (1.6 petrol or diesel) or a
Mondeo (1.8 petrol/2.0 diesel). No petrol card (10p/mile expenses for
business) but free insurance etc. Tax is around £800.

Unfortunately, I'd rather shoot myself in the face than own either of
    those.

Not a horrendous commute then and a few nice roads for the summer.

They do financial stuff? I was approached last year about a company
    in Warwick.

On the 1.6 Focus it probably does, but only just. My Civic costs 9p a
    mile in petrol.
