  2. Well, if you'd read on, you'd have found that it did come back,
    albeit a bit the worse for wear. It'd been extensively worked over to
    try to get it going -- I don't think that was done in a field, although it
    was found quite close to home. There _had_ been petrol put in the tank,
    but when I went to investigate I found that the petcock was missing, so
    I guess it doen't have any in there now. The screws holding the petcock
    to the frame had been replaced in their threads, lending weight to the
    theory that it was worked on elsewhere.

    I suspect it was taken away, then later brought back and dumped --
    perhaps by someone other than the thieves since it ended up so close to
    where it started!

  5. S'ok, he got it back. The thieves kindly left it somewhere nearby in the
    hope he'd get it running sometime and they could pick up where they left
    off.

    Yeah, I only realized that after I read a few of the follow up. That's
    what happens if you haven't read it for ukrm(c) for a long time and the
    newsreader displays the threads in a reverse chronological order.
