And now for my next scheme

    1. I arranged to buy a '73 BMW R75/5 rolling frame.

    2. I also found a '72 R75/5 insurance write-off. Frame status
is "non-repairable" due to major hurt-hurts. The motor
is believed to run (but I need to get this confirmed).

    3. I have a '78 Dnepr MT-10/36 which *might* (with some futzing)
take a /5 BMW motor. I HAVE JUST BEGUN to futz!

    4. The vendor for [2] also has a 1977 BMW R60/6 with a "repairable"
status. That means it's registerable provided that a different motor
is installed and a U-built tag applied for.

My track record on projects isn't all that great. However, I have
never been so retired before. And I have a shop manual, a set of
cheap tools and a can-do attitude! Also, I never try and force
anything, I just reach for a bigger hammer.

By the time the dust settles I hope to have a BWM-powered hack rig
and one or two other airheads to ride (or sell).

ps. I saw an Craig's ad from a local dealership holding a liquidation
sale. Naturally I went tear-assing down there and managed to score
a $200 spare trailer wheel for $40 as well as a few other goodies
such as windscreens, mounting kits and a sidecar fender. At least,
that's what it's going to be once I've customized it a bit.

    Car pay D M,
