    Not IME. Many pedestals aren't even properly attached to the sink, but

    That's on that there furrin' plumbing. Now, in real plumbing the basin
    is resting on the ped. Not attached as such, admittedly, but certainly
    taking the weight.

    Anyway, there are so many types and designs, I suspect we're both right.
