    Withdraw the auction, if he's that keen.

    I'm pulling the auction tomorrow, because a regular on ukrm has said
    he'll have the GPz. So I'm keeping the XS.

    I just know this is all going to end in tears, so I'll get it out of
    the way right now and blame Timo.

    Of course if Hog decides he's going to up the ante and wave over a
    grand at me, I'll be in even more of a mess.

  7. AARRRGGGHH!

    At the weekend, my neighbour (who also has an XS650; US import like
    mine) was muttering about wiping the GPz off me. He knew I coveted the
    XS - it's shabby, but all there, and very low miles. He only gave £150
    for it, and we both know it's worth more than that.

    So I offered him the GPz for the XS650 + £150, and he's decided it's a
    deal. So now I own *two* XS650s. I think I might break the spare one.

    Well I'm back from CA today and thinking rationally. I would give you
    that for it no problem but it would need to be 33bhp restricted for
    this gal. Hmmm difficult one. Maybe someone does a kit for it, don't
    know, but it would possibly spoil the brute completely.
    <rustles notes thoughtfully.>

    Wish someone would buy the XJ off me so easily... it's hardly a bad bike
    compared to a GPz, is it? :-S

  10. See other posting. I'm keeping it. In fact, I now have two.

    The Older Gentleman was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
    <rattles tools>

    I could sell you a GPz if you needed one...

    Means I'd need another winter bike though...

    You're a whore. It's only a question of price ;o)

    It's probably not an ideal 33bhp bike? you know where to get me if
    you have thoughts about it.

  13. No, it's not. Honestly. An XV535 might be, though.

  14. the 535 is only about 33 bhp anyway, isn't it?

  15. Rated a bit higher, I think, but at the back wheel - no more than 30.

  16. Always rather fancied the bigger XVs mind; the 1100 looks vaguely
    convincing.

    I always thought the 1100 looked like a tart's boudoir. The first XV750
    - the monoshock one - had a real cleanness of line and a welcome lack
    of tasteless chromey bits.

    It was half-decent to ride, too, apart from the exploding starter motor
    and the feeble rear shock.
