An improvement, I guess...

    Fitted the new, original Honda rectifier today. The ammeter now
    confirms that the the battery is charging, the voltage is slowly
    climbing when the engine is running, IMHO indicating that (a) the
    battery ain't too happy and (b) that at least the charging circuit
    appears to be working.

    Still doesn't want to idle tho', and it looks like the throttle cable
    has a problem with the splitter that make the RHS carb open later than
    the LHS one. Given that the splitter appears to be mostly made from
    insulating tape I think I'll know what the next purchase will be...
