Well several of us thought it was a shame not to see you near Brizzle
    recently.

That was the first time he crashed it I think. I do remember it
looking very shiny a couple of weeks before at a BOTAFOT.

Except that work have changed her off-duty around so that she's now working
that Saturday, which means she won't be going past Newcastle (the crap one)
or going to her mother's, which means I have to find another way to get to
Staffordshire[1] and I'll have to be home on Saturday night *and* I'll have
to organise child care for the little 'un[2] for the day while I swan off[3]

[1] Or pay £120 to have it delivered
    [2] Now not so little
[3] The suggestion of her returning with me on the pillion was met with
    frosty silence.

Thanks for the offer, anyway. And, of course, to all others in strange and
far-away places that offered to let me crash, er, stay there.

The somebody else was also Ade, out for his first BOTAFOT on the 996.

The Aprilia rider low-sided coming round a left-hander (from his POV)
towards us, slid in front of Ade (who had the 996 up on the front wheel)
into the hedge and then bounced out in front of me.

    I'd forgotten all about that.

  9. I remember that. Thought at the time that it was Ade that had binned. I
seem to remember that the bloke said he knew the road like the back of
    his busted hand.

Still, his mobile phone was ok.

She sold the bike to me. I took it to Frankfurt, and several other places,
and am in the process of binlinering it.

As for the curtains not meeting in the middle...

It's not ready this weekend, and the following weekend is ... well, it's a
    week away.

    Wot Platy said...

My wrist can't be fixed so a bike could only be a toy, and I can't
afford that sort of a toy. I've can't afford new curtains, either...

It's the wondrous circle of comedy life. Old gives way to new. I go
now to join Kelly Monteith, Mike Yarwood and the short one out of The
Young Ones in that disquietingly silent amateur comedy night in the
    sky.

But at least AndrewR will be there shining my fucking shoes. Do it
    bitch!

  19. I feel privileged to have Windy turn up to one of my last few Summer
Parties at The Wood House as have many others from this news group. But
her classic remark when I met her when she rode down my drive and parked
    up entered into the FAQ:

"People are invariably not what you expect them to be, or to look like
what you expect them to look like (with the possible exception of Mick
Whittingham). Many may not be the age you assume, nor the sex you
assume, nor even the sex that they were at birth. "

  20. Interesting, because that was actually my own personal contribution to
the FAQs. I think I'll send a message into the Great Beyond to sue her
    for plagiarism.
